was one of my most important spiritual journeys...
Nearly everyone enters India through a mega City. The impressions are totally different, honking, motorbikes everywhere, cows walking freely around, shopping centers and castles as big as a few football fields. The other difference is that they have as many temples as we have churches, but at any given time there is a ceremony going on to worship God. We in Europe are fascinated with a church, but all we do is look at the paintings, don't even bother to bow down and leave the place in five minutes.
The Bhagavad Gita gave me the inspiration to travel to India. The name Vrindavan is always mentioned, it is the
nearest you can come to the spiritual world. It has 5000 temples and is not layed out like our modern cities, but has to be discovered like a spiritual journey of it's own.
This was paradise 5000 years ago, the river of love, the Yamuna flows gently, like being carried on butter, parrots fly over your head while chanting. Iskcon provides God offered food to everyone. Watching the devotees dance and sing for God with their love, or giving seminars was fascinating. They live in a state of self-satisfaction that is rare to find. No one eats meat, smokes. The cow is respected for who she is the mother of everyone. A cuddly soul.
Here you just land and feel free....
Luang Prabhang is a spiritual place. The life rhythym is slower with more serenity. Two rivers meet on this high Plateau. The-Tat-Kuang-Si waterfalls(http://faszination-suedostasien.de/reiseziele/laos/2939-der-tat-kuang-si-wasserfall-bei-luang-prabang) nearby are a very good accessable nature wonder . Buddhistisc monks sit with you. One Tempel after the other is placed beautifully. The nature is everywhere as if you are living in a botanical garden itself . As a vegetarian we were blessed with the amount of food dishes just in the market area. No need for fancy restaurants. The airport was also surreal and relaxed
Our retreat: http://www.maison-dalabua.com was a dream, I felt like in the water garden of Monet. The light setting and the welcoming lotus in the morning, was a treat.
Laos is a place to slow down, contact yourself and learn that life can have a different pace.

This is a hidden gem in the North Italian Lakes . A very special energy is created by the island of silence.
Even in the low season Italian grandmas cook italian dishes if you are hungry if you ask sweetly.
